Steam Adds Personal Gaming Calendar

Valve is known for its innovation in both its games and the Steam platform. To achieve innovation, however, experimentation is required; that’s exactly what the Steam team is doing with Steam Labs. If you’re unfamiliar with the program, Steam Labs is where the team shares its experiments and gathers feedback. Their latest one is a Personal Calendar that recommends recent releases and upcoming games based on the titles you’ve already played.

How Does It Work?

The calendar will recommend games based on your playtime and wishlisted games. Its system will show titles similar to those you’ve spent a lot of time playing, so don’t expect suggestions based on games you’ve barely played or demos. The system updates its data daily, but changes won’t happen immediately; it will gradually adjust to your gaming preferences at a slow yet precise pace.

While Steam already had “Popular Upcoming” and “All Upcoming” sections, the team said that they wanted to do something more visual. Something “to help understand how far away an exciting new launch is” says Valve.

The calendar also includes games from your wishlist, you can filter games by tag, adjust the number of results, and the calendar takes into consideration your store’s preference settings as well.

The team says it is looking for feedback, so be sure to check your gaming calendar and let Steam know your thoughts here.  You can find your calendar here . Have fun marking those dates!
