Deadlock Reaches 100k Players With New Update And Heroes

Even while still an invite only playtest, Deadlock doesn’t stop surprising with new updates and high player counts. With the release of the Old Gods, New Blood update and its Heroes, the player count reached 100k players over the week. The update includes a new game mode, and 6 new heroes that will be added over the weeks, with two releasing per week. Players can vote for which Heroes they want to be added first, and this week the winners were Rem and Graves.

Rem

Deadlock Rem

Rem is a small birdlike creature from the dreams’ realm, but don’t let his cuteness fool you; his pillow throw is as deadly as his cuteness. He has his own secret room in the hideout, and not only can he go into the vents of the hideout, but in the ones on the Cursed Apple as well. Rem is one of the most unique support heroes to be added yetwith a candle as his gun and he can see through walls.

Rem’s abilities include:

Pillow Toss. Rem throws his pillow inflicting spirit damage and knockback.

Tag Along. Rem jumps into an ally and naps by their side to heal them.

Lil Helpers. Rem’s little friends can loot boxes and help allies.

Naptime. Rem’s eyes become a weapon, seeing enemies through walls and sending to sleep those who are caught in their gaze.

Graves

Deadlock Graves

The second hero to win the vote this week was Graves. Darcy Graves is the daughter of popular attorneys, who uses his necromancer master’s hand as a weapon. Yes, she would be good friends with Wednesday Adams or great rivals. Graves weapons auto-aim targets, so it’s a great Hero for new players, or those who could use a HAND to aim.

Graves abilities include:

Jar of Dead. Throw a jar that when breaks it summons Deadheads.

Grasping Hands. Create a line that damages enemies when they pass through it.

Essence Theft. A passive ability that steals weapon damage spirit resist.

Borrowed Decree. Summon a gravestone that creates ghouls who explode when they’re close to the enemy.

Each new Hero added brings something unique to Deadlock. Every new update integrates innovation. Deadlock is aiming to keep that high quality which Valve’s games are known for, and while it has been some years since Valve released a game—even longer for a multiplayerit’s good to see that quality hasn’t changed.
