In case you’ve been living under a rock, or in the underworld, Hades 2 released its 1.0 version last month. It received great reviews and high scores, including from me. While many regard it as a masterpiece, one of the few criticisms has been its ending. Some players found it a bit rushed and felt it could have been expanded further. Well, even though the game is no longer in Early Access, Supergiant Games has just released a new update that adds more content to the ending and beyond.
How To Get Patch 1 Preview Update?
The patch is still a work-in-progress, but you can still try its content.
First make sure to back up your Hades 2 save files. For that:
- Windows, go to \%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Hades II\
- MacOS, go to \%USERPROFILE%\Library\Application Support\Supergiant Games\Hades II\
Then, go to your steam library, right-click on Hades II and select properties. Select Betas, then [preview]. The game will then update with patch 1.
The new content in this patch is mainly directed at the game’s ending. The clears required for the true ending have been increased, and new events and voice lines that lead to that ending have also been added. However, these changes are for the Underworld route of the game. The Surface route hasn’t been changed.
Besides the additional content to the ending, there is also a cauldron incantation that lets you return to an earlier point in the story, adjustments to prophecies, improved damage for certain boons, bug fixes, and much more!
