Since the Steam Deck came out, fans have been asking Valve for more Steam hardware; a controller similar to the Deck, and a VR headset. Today, those prayers have been answered by Lord Gaben, and even more. Valve has unveiled its new hardware lineup: the Steam Controller, Steam Frame, and a new Steam Machine.
Steam Controller

If you’ve developed a comfortable bond with the Steam Deck, the new Steam Controller might pique your interest. While a Steam Controller already exists, this new version is completely based on the Deck’s layout and features, including HD rumble, trackpads, and gyro controls. The controller is fully compatible and ready to use with the other hardware in the lineup.
Steam Machine

The Steam Machine name isn’t new. Years ago, Valve released console/PC hybrids under the same name. However, they didn’t perform well in the market. The software wasn’t perfect, and most people agree now that the machines were simply ahead of their time. Now, in a world where many console gamers have migrated to PC, it’s the perfect moment for a comeback. Thanks to the Steam Deck and SteamOS, Valve has not only improved the software but also innovated within its ecosystem.

The new Steam Machine will be available in two models: one with a 512GB NVMe SSD and another with a 2TB NVMe SSD. The device is small, quiet, and capable of running games at up to 4K/60 FPS with FSR. It also supports the installation of other apps and operating systems. The front plate is also customizable and includes an animated LED strip.
Steam Frame

For VR enthusiasts, the Steam Frame is an improvement over previous SteamVR headsets in every way. The Frame is lighter, more compact, and features upgraded optics and controllers. It’s also both a streaming and standalone headset. You can stream your games to the headset using its 6GHz wireless adapter. Or, run SteamOS directly on it, since the Frame is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Series processor.
Steam Deck?

While there’s no news about the Steam Deck itself, Valve mentioned that the Deck has been the inspiration behind all of its new hardware. Everything the company learned from developing the Deck has been applied to these new creations. The Deck also keeps receiving updates like the recent downloads with screen off feature. Now that the new hardware lineup is here, it might finally be time for a certain, long-awaited Valve game to make its appearance…
