Returning events, TennoVIP, and Sentient Romances? For a devshort, this one brought a lot of information, and even more fun speculation from the community. Most importantly, however, Devshort 114 brings the return of Space Mom herself, Rebecca Ford. For those who don’t know, Rebecca, who is the Creative Director of Warframe, had to undergo medical surgery. This unfortunately made her miss the latest Tennocon. We can all imagine how difficult that must have been for her, so we are glad to see her back and healthy after a successful surgery!
The Devshort started with Megan reading a chat comment that said, “sentient romances?” Both Megan and Rebecca laughed at the comment with a “don’t say it,” and changed the subject. If you know DE, romance in the next expansion won’t come as a surprise, since the element has been present in other updates after its initial debut in the 1999 chat dating-sim feature. Speaking of the KIM chat, the team confirms that more HEX chats are coming later this year, with “romanceable captura scenes for the HEX crew.” Megan mentions that “you can go on a date with Aoi”; however, she warns players of romancing her wife Lettie: “don’t you dare,” advised the Community Director.

In other shared news, the DE team is going to South Korea for TennoVIP on September 4, where they will also conduct the next Devstream. This stream will bring more information on the next update, Iceblade of Narin, its Warframe Narin, quality of life announcements, and reworks. Megan and Rebecca shared some of their Korean language study results (keep at it!).
The duo also reminded everyone that the Warframe and Soulframe TennoConcert 2026 Visualizer and Live Album are available on YouTube and streaming platforms. Before ending the stream, they confirmed that relics missions for 1999 are on their list, other hotfixes for Shockwave are on their way, and that the Plague Star event will be back.
