While there was a Devshort last week, Digital Extremes brought Warframe Devshorts 115 today before the team’s busy schedule. The schedule includes TennoVIP in South Korea on September 4. This VIP event will also be the transmission of Devstream 197. Today’s short stream was a tease of some of the information that will be presented in Seoul.
Creative Director Rebecca Ford and Design Director Pablo Alonso took over today’s short. After making fun of the stream’s camera, the duo proceeded to present a bug found by CEO Steve Sinclair on the hair shaders of the game models, such as the hair on the Operator, Drifter, Kubrows, etc. This bug will be fixed in the Iceblade of Narin update, which will bring deeper colors and better visuals for the hair system. For example: “Black hair is much nicer, and less mid-gray,” read Rebecca from a note by Steve.

Hair isn’t the only thing getting a change. Riven Mods and how they work will also be getting an upgrade. First, you can combine stats in the Riven Mods into new stats; for example, Damage and Multishot into Weakpoint Damage. This will be possible with a new resource coming with the Iceblade of Narin update. The second change is the ability to lock stats for the Riven Mod rolls thanks to another new currency coming in the Iceblade update. But on a social media post, Pablo added some additional information regarding the Riven Mods changes:
- In theory you could have 3 combo stats at once
- It’s a normal reroll
- There are no combos of combos… yet?
- You can lock combo stats like any other stat
- Reroll only gives base stats
Rebecca mentioned that they will share more on these systems in the next Devstream. This Devshort was over a bit before the 15 minutes because of the unfortunate news of the passing of Dolly Parton. RIP Dolly.
