Last week, Steam released a post updating users on what’s next for the Steam Machine, both for owners and for those waiting to get their hands on one. Steam has been very consistent with its hardware updates, such as the Steam Deck getting additional features years later after release. For those with a Steam Machine already at home wanting to customize their Machine’s appearance, you can now do so manually thanks to the CAD files released by Steam.
These files contain information on the structure of the outside of the Machine, which will allow for manual customization, including 3D-printed creations. One recent example of these possible creations includes a controller station charger front plate by a user. The CAD files can be accessed here.

Steam also announced that FSR4.1 is now supported on Proton Experimental for titles supporting FSR upgrade. Additionally, for those still in the wait line for the Steam Machine, the team shares that: “We’re fulfilling orders on a daily basis, sending out emails to reservation holders with the option to purchase in the order in which they landed on the list post-randomization.”
The post also mentions that everyone on the reservation queue should have an email before the end of this year. However, make sure to complete the transaction within 72 hours of receiving the email. You will be skipped to the next person in line if the Machine isn’t bought during that time. Good luck!
